– A meeting was held at the Association of Traders and Agricultural Materials Producers on Monday, October 9, 2023, between the Association, represented by the Head of the Association of Agricultural Traders, Engineer Louay Baybars, the Secretary, Engineer Amid Al-Abed, the Treasurer, Engineer Muhammad Al-Bas, and the Deputy Secretary, Engineer Raed Sedqi, and the Agricultural Business Association, represented by the President of the Association, Engineer Samir Owais and members of the administrative body, Engineer Muhammad Daraawi, Mr. Fouad Abu Al-Sheikh, and Engineer Muhammad Al-Hamoud.
– Engineer Samir Owais gave a presentation about the association, its goals and role in adopting important topics in the agricultural sector, the role expected from it, and how it positively intersects with agricultural civil society institutions. He stressed the importance of the role of the Traders’ Union and producers of agricultural materials in the sector and presented a proposal to hold a meeting for all boards of directors of agricultural associations and unions in The Kingdom to discuss the most important issues in the sector to reduce dispersion, find ways for dialogue, and confront challenges, as it is a sector in need of support. He stressed that it is in the interest of the sector to work on establishing the Jordan Chamber of Agriculture to defend the interests of the agricultural business sector and to be like a single body to represent everyone before the government.
– For his part, Captain Engineer Louay Baybars welcomed the administrative body of the association and expressed his support for joint work to enhance the role of agricultural business institutions. The captain confirmed the union’s cooperation with the association to achieve the goals of agricultural business.
